This blog is about contest promotion
One great method to drive viewers and potential customers to your website is to sponsor an online contest.
Are you asking yourself why you would want to “give away” your service or product? Let’s find out . . .
While you may not spend a good portion of your day surfing the web in the quest for winning “stuff” – there are literally thousands, if not millions of people that do just that.
Some people play Bingo all day or some play at the online casinos, some spend the day entering their names into sites for free samples – and others spend all day entering contests!
This section is to cover the topic of why it pays off for you – to give away your service and/or product as a contest sponsor. Contests draw thousands of entrants per month and most contests will have the entrant punch in their name and email address for the chance to win prizes.
Think about it for a moment – think of how many new site visitors you’d receive through a contests – visitors which normally, would never enter your site. Visitors that didn’t have a clue that you were even on the internet.
‘New visitors’ translate into the potential for sales and an audience of repeat customers. It’s so easy to sponsor a contest and many website owners like you do it on a regular basis. Keep your business in the ‘eye’ of the web viewer – be repetitive with your sponsorships.
The mechanics of sponsoring a contest is nothing more that donating a prize (normally with a value of $25 or more) and arranging delivery to the winner. How painless is that? While a contest visitor may not make a purchase that very day, if what you provide perks their interest, they’ll bookmark your site – they will tell their friends: “you must visit this site I saw the other day” and so on. Free advertising by word of mouth, and it cost’s you nothing but your prize donation. So the progression of “word of mouth” promotion has begun – a method of advertising you cannot buy.
